Assessment Areas of the PBPI

The PPBI examination is challenging and doesn’t require prior flying experience or advance preparation. Your candid response to each question is all that is needed to produce a very useful assessment. The methodology used for the 2 ½ hour, 140 question PBPI examination results in a one (1) page written individual assessment.

The overall written assessment (based on 100% of the examination) is comprised of your interpretation of your:
  • Learning and Communication Abilities (38% weight)
  • Personal Attributes, Situational Awareness, and Attention to Details (21% weight)
  • Leadership and Decision-Making Under Pressure (10% weight)
  • Keys to Motivating You (9% weight)
  • Common Flying Situations (9% weight)
  • Medical Status and Understanding of the Body (9% weight)
  • Understanding of Weather (5% weight)
Please use the overall result on the PBPI examination as one of many factors in your decision-making if/when initiating pursuit of future pilot training.  The PBPI examination is not scientific but as the name implies, the examination does provide a basic indicator of your proclivity for pilot training for a low fee.
